How did you start making music? Which bands were a big inspiration for you to become musicians?
Alex: We all started playing music during primary school. Daniel (drums) and I (guitar/vocals) started jamming, writing songs and covering Green Day in his parent's living room during late primary school. We met Ben (bass) in high-school jazz band and formed Columbus after we graduated school in late 2011. We were really into 90s pink and rock at the time. Bands like Green Day, Offspring, Fall out Boy and Frenzal Rhomb were all inspirations to why we started a band.
Do you have plans to come to Europe - especially to Germany - in the future?
Alex: We've been fortunate enough to have done a UK tour last year, and we can't wait to do more international tours. We'll hopefully see Europe, especially Germany in 2018.
Do you have some plans for a new full length album in the future?
Alex: We're currently writing our second album now, and we'll be recording in late 2017.
Which show was the most memorable on so far?
Alex: One of the most memorable shows for me was our first show on last year's UK tour. We got off the plane in Leeds and went straight to the venue for our first international show. People in the crowd started singing along the moment we started playing and it was the craziest feeling to see that so far from home.
With which bands do you want to play someday?
Alex: I'd donate one of my kidneys to open for Weezer!
If you have to choose one album, that you have to listen for rest of your life, which one would it be?
Alex: This is very difficult, but today I'm feeling Odyssey Number Five - Powerfinger.
What are you thankful for as a band?
Alex: We're so thankful for every person who's ever come to a show, bought or streamed our music, or supported us troughout our 5 years as a band. This isn't possible without you.
